Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body.  Different types of collagen can be found everywhere in our body, in our tendons, heart, nails, hair, skin, gums, eyes, joints and blood vessels.  Excluding the body’s water content, proteins (molecules containing carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen) make up for about 45% of a person’s weight.
