PRE & POST TAN CARE

How to prepare for your tan:

Shower and wash your hair BEFORE your tan if possible, as washing your hair won’t be possible until your tan is fully developed. Make sure you exfoliate your skin and shave BEFORE your tan. Older skin cells stained with your previous tan will effect your new tan. If you have any stubborn patches of old tan, try taking a bath with a cup of bicarbonate of soda. In a rush? we provide the Norvell ‘Exmitt’ in store to help you remove those stubborn patches with next to no scrubbing and prepping your skin for your new tan in the process! Ask your spray tan technician for details.

Wear dark, loose fitting clothing and shoes to your appointment.

How to care for your spray tan:

Leave your tan to develop for as long as possible, you can even leave it overnight if you want to. Any bronzer that comes off onto clothes or sheets, is superficial and washes out very easily. When the time comes to rinse (MINIMUM 8 hours or 1 for rapid tans), use warm water NOT hot and only use soap where you really need it. Your tan should last around 5-7 days if you follow these tips:

• Avoid baths (stick to showers)

• Use a PH balanced cleanser and sulphate free shampoos and conditioners - Pick up both in store, ask your spray tan technician for details.

• Moisturise frequently with a PH balanced product - Take one of ours home! Ask your spray tan technician for details.

• Don’t scrub your skin firmly with towels after showering, instead gently pat dry (unless you are preparing for a new tan)

• Using a facial cleanser containing any acne fighting ingredients like benzoyl or lactic acids will remove your tan more quickly, consider switching to something gentle, or pick up a mini tan extending spray to top up! Ask your spray tan technician for details.
